Should elected officials be subject to drug tests?

Question: In today's workforce, one must submit to a drug test to get almost any job. Athletes and law enforcement employees are subject to random tests. Should elected politicians, who make decisions which effect everyone, be subject to at least the same standards as the rest of the population?

For Sure. (Finally a good poll question)

I heard a U.S. Senator slurring his speach recently. These people are making decisions about national security, the economy, and other important issues. How many of them are intoxicated or on anti-depressants while they manipulate our lives?

Drug test just never seam to work. For example the number of false positives at Wal-mart is about same as positives in pro sports test for steroids.

Update
Drug tests work well enough to keep people from gaining employment if they don't test clean. It makes perfect sense for politicians to go through the same scrutiny the rest of us do. The way it is now, the ruling class is the most corrupt segment of society with no check and balances.
