Listen. Take notes. Participate in class. Read in advance. Before sleeping or doing anything remotely fun that could distract you, do your homework. Don't procrastinate. And ask someone to make sure that you do all these things because you're likely going to stop doing these unless someone else is making sure that you do it. Good luck with school. ^_^

I've been a strait A student as long as i could remember so i dont really know how it feels not to be the smartest person in the class but my advice is that you just STUDIE,STUDIE,STUDIE thats what i do and no matter how hard it is you always believe in urself even if no1 else does anything is possible you dont have to be smart you have to have ambission to keep going and dont be afraid to tell ur teacher you dont under stand it because its about ur education not what people think about you there not the ones who have a dream you are and if you try i garrunty you WILL succed

do not be distacted and don't let insulting and complain go in head try first satisfying your friends then prove your parent by working hard in your test and convince with your teacher by taking active part in your studies i know it is lot of hard work atleast you would be better on studies.so good luck!!!!!!!!! .
