The Problem: Hi everyone. Has anyone got any advice? I currently work for a local Council as a corporate graphic designer. I have been there 4 years and have recently found the work incredbly dull, no designing as such just producing corporate looking documents, following my own corporate style guidelines - (that I also manage). I am the only designer in the Council and am pretty much my own boss.
However I have currently been offered a job in a small design agency that employs 5 people, with only 2 designers. It is like a different world and would involve me actually designing things(!) I am very excited about the possibility of the new role. The agency hopes to increase the number of designers over the next 6-months and would see me as the studio manager.
The downside is - they can only afford to match my salary, but have said that I will be well rewarded should the agency succeed in the goals they have.
Do I leave the safe and secure desk at the Council for a taste of freedom, or do I stay at the Council and buy a suede jacket with leather elbow patches?
Any thoughts - or anyone with a similar experience?

I think you sould actually remember when people say we cannot give you more they are full of . i mena any place can beat your salery if they really want you. If you said you made more then they would have given youthat figure. I would stay were you are. do not let them use you and find a obbie to fill the boring attacks. Working hard and more for the same pay might not be as you hope in the end just more work.
