Can a very small weak man be a good mechanic?

Question: As a very small weak guy(5`3 118 lbs), it hard for me to be an effective car mechanic.Sure you have powertools that do help, however there is alot of physical exertion. Normally my girlfriend who is much bigger and stronger than me changes the tire. However she wasnt there when I almost had a blowout, I had to do it on my own. It wasnt easy either. I had to use the strength in my entire body to get it done. And I am still sore. A week earlier I had to replace my battery in car. It was so heavy lugging it into autozone to exchange it. the girl at the front desk even carried the new battery out to the car for me. I understand how the car runs, but to fix any problems takes alot of strength, in the form of grip or upperbody strength.Usually strength that I dont have. And thats not just cars, but home repairs as well. I can fix computers. In fact the one Im using right now I built myself. but a sound card only weighs a few ounces. So to all you small weak men, do you have the same problems? I am not saying you cant be a good mechanic, its just more taxing on you physically?

I have seen small weak men work at garages, but they usually are at the front desk. I replaced my brakes and rotors once. I got it done, but it literally killed me physically.

LoL my wife is a 5th generation olschool wiccan. She tells me her ancestors used to eat leprochauns your size as part of a ritual. I guess no point to this post, except you should be thankful you are living in the 21st century where your only concern is getting a car battery out of its carriage

It all depends on what a mechanic (or, in my case, a "mechanic") does. I am slightly over six feet tall but I am a small, skinny (and therefore a weak!!!) man. In fact, I weigh barely a dozen lbs more than the op himself!!! I know I'm not strong enough to match the strength of either of the two women he is referring to (his girlfriend and the girl at the front desk). I have had quite a few big strong girlfriends, one of whom used to lift my moped up the stairs for me (because I simply was not strong enough). I stored my moped in my apartment which I realize was a very dangerous thing to do because of the obvious fire hazard. She stood 5-ft-6 and she was solidly built at 165 lbs. Any woman as solid and as strong as her has no problem being any kind of a mechanic. There were three steps inside my apartment door on the ground floor (when I lived there) that led directly into the apartment. As I led the way into the apartment while lifting the front end of the moped (where the least amount of weight was) using BOTH hands, she EASILY lifted the back end of that moped (with that heavy motor there) up those stairs WITH ONLY ONE HAND!!! She stood there at the bottom of the stairs while she actually RAISED that heavy end up -- WITH JUST ONE HAND!!! When the doorman saw her lifting it up like that, he said: HEY, THAT'S SOME KIND OF ACTION THERE!!! She later demonstrated her incredible strength to me even further when she just as easily lifted me over her head. I don't know about other guys but a woman being big and strong REALLY TURNS ME ON!!! There is nothing wrong with a big strong woman like her doing all of the heavy lifting for a small weak man like me. Still, I am a "mechanic" in my own right. However, the only "heavy lifting" I have ever done for her was DURING OUR LOVEMAKING!!!

Shawn your wife wouldnt want to eat me. This meat is a half a century old. Cars are not hard to figure out. For me though they are hard to fix because I am small and weak. Thats not a good thing neccessarily, just a reality that I live with. Just thought I would note, two weeks ago when I went into this express place to get an oil change, it was done by two women. They were far bigger and stronger than I was. they handled the mechanics of my auto with great ease.

My general rule is if you need to use your upperbody to lift a 40 lb battery, instead of your hands, you shouldn`t be a mechanic
